Men Want to Age Amazingly Too: Why More Men Are Looking After Their Appearance

For a long time, anti-ageing clinics were seen as somewhere predominantly for women. But that is changing, and I think it’s about time.

Men want to look sexy, fresh and sculpted.

They may describe it differently. They often don’t want to look “done”, younger or dramatically different. What I hear from men is that they want to look healthy, strong and well-rested and still completely masculine.

At Age Amazingly, the approach to a male face is very different from the way we assess a female face. It’s about understanding the features that contribute to a masculine appearance and developing an individual plan rather than simply treating a wrinkle.

A stronger, sharper jawline

One of the first areas many men notice as they age is their jawline.

The strong definition they had when they were younger can gradually soften as the skin changes, facial tissues shift and fullness develops beneath the chin.

For many men, a defined jawline contributes to a strong, masculine appearance. Depending on the individual, there are a number of non-surgical approaches that may be considered to improve the appearance of the jawline, skin firmness and overall facial definition.

The goal isn’t to change his face.

It’s to help bring back some of the definition that was already there.

When drooping brows make you look tired

The eyes and brows are another area men often underestimate.

As we age, changes around the forehead, brows and upper eyelids can make the eyes appear heavier. A lower brow position can sometimes create a tired, stern or less alert appearance, even when you feel fantastic.

Carefully selected treatments may help improve the appearance of the upper face and create a fresher, more open look.

With men, however, this needs to be approached thoughtfully. Male brows are naturally different from female brows, and we don’t necessarily want a high or overly arched eyebrow.

You don’t need to look younger. You want to look like the best version of you.

This is the philosophy I particularly love for men.

You don’t need a different face.

You don’t need to erase every wrinkle.

And you certainly don’t need to look as though you’ve walked out of a cosmetic clinic.

You might simply want to look healthier, sharper, fresher and more confident when you look in the mirror.

At Age Amazingly, we assess every face individually and discuss the different options that may be appropriate for your concerns, anatomy and goals.

Because ageing is inevitable.

But how we choose to age is personal, and men deserve to Age Amazingly too.

Frequently asked questions

Why are more men coming to cosmetic clinics?

Anti-ageing clinics were seen for a long time as somewhere predominantly for women, and that is changing. Most men are not asking to look younger or dramatically different. They want to look healthy, strong and well-rested, and still completely masculine.

Is a male face assessed differently to a female face?

Yes. At Age Amazingly the approach to a male face is very different. It is about understanding the features that contribute to a masculine appearance and developing an individual plan, rather than simply treating a wrinkle.

Why do men notice their jawline first?

The strong definition men had when they were younger can gradually soften as the skin changes, facial tissues shift and fullness develops beneath the chin. A defined jawline contributes to a strong, masculine appearance, so it is often the first thing men notice.

Will treatment make me look done?

That is not the goal. The aim is not to change your face or erase every wrinkle. It is to help bring back some of the definition that was already there, so you look healthier, sharper and fresher when you look in the mirror.
