Anti-Wrinkle

Post Care

What to expect after your anti-wrinkle treatment:

You may experience some tenderness, and mild bruising, swelling and redness at the injection sites. This should resolve over the next 24 hours. If you do experience bruising it can last up to 7 days, spending some time under our Omnilux LED light can help with this.

It takes a full 14 days for the results of your anti-wrinkle treatment to be seen. Some people will see results in just a few days, but the full effect normally takes about 14 days.

What to do after your anti-wrinkle treatment:

• Remain upright for four hours following your treatment.
• Delay the following skin treatments for two weeks post anti-wrinkle (skin-needling, dermal rolling, microdermabrasion, facials).
• Keep moving your face. It helps the protein to be absorbed into the targeted muscle. Keep laughing, smiling, and frowning as you would normally.
• Avoid painkillers such as aspirin and ibuprofen along with alcohol before and after treatment as these substances can thin the blood and make you more prone to bruising.
• Restrict activity/exercise for about 12 hours post treatment to avoid spreading anti-wrinkle to areas that have not been targeted.
• Avoid exposing the treated area to extreme heat or cold. Avoid saunas. Spas and excessive sun exposure.

Reminder: Botox/Dysport/Xeomin require a special technique in order to customise the injections to your individual muscular structure. At week two, as a new patient we need you to come in for a check-up to assess the results and the strength of your individual muscles so we can make sure our tailored plan is perfect for your face. We may need to tweak your face at week two, so we are both happy with the result.

We will then have your perfect plan for the future.

  • An eyelid droop (ptosis)
  • Prolonged redness or swelling around the injection sites.
  • Extensive bruising or swelling.
  • Blurry or altered vision.
  • Difficulty swallowing or eating.

It is essential that you attend your review appointment in 2 to 4 weeks time so that we can compare with your before photo .A three month check-up is also required to check your progress. For any queries, please call your injector.
